about me
I am a scholar and a writer based in Palo Alto, CA and Bogotá, Colombia. Since 2008, I have taught Latin American and comparative literature at Stanford. My interests include theories of globalization, new materialism, and the legal imagination. I am the author of several books, including the monographs Beyond Bolaño: The Global Latin American Novel (2015) and Things with a History: Transcultural Materialism and the Literatures of Extraction in Contemporary Latin America (2019), as well as the short story collection Mal de patria (2019) and the novel Los iluminados (2022). A former Alexander von Humboldt research fellow in Berlin, I have lectured at colleges and institutions across the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
